The Waldorf Astoria offered the perfect backdrop for Scott and Maryam Brazdo’s elegant ceremony, which also featured international flair and some moments of musical mirth.

The ballroom was decorated from floor to ceiling in the couple’s signature charcoal gray and pink color scheme. The dance floor was wrapped in white, with a pink border that matched the couple’s stationary and invitations. “It really transformed the room and made it look amazing,” Maryam says.

Maryam says she chose the Waldorf Astoria because she knew the staff would provide top-notch service. “That was of the utmost importance to us for our guests,” she says.

She also offers kudos to her wedding planner, Brittany Sobering of Tickled Pink Brides: “She took care of everything, and we were truly able to enjoy our special day.”

Among the most memorable moments at the wedding, says Maryam, was when Scott sang for her. First, at the ceremony, he delivered a tune inspired by the movie The Notebook. Later, at the reception, he picked up a guitar and belted out “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

Another personal touch, celebrating Maryam’s Persian heritage, was a honey ceremony: “It symbolized the sweetness of marriage, and we gave little jars of locally grown honey as our party favors.”
